I agree. That is the best bullish case for crypto that I bring up when people ask. If 25% of the world's middle class lived like Argentinians, then crypto might become the default.

caveat being that most of the world is turning into countries with problematic (weak, tyrannical or both) institutions and economies. 4/5 people born under authoritarian rule, with democracies in their own state of decline.

In my opinion (no evidence, just my view) yes. They can benefit from crypto like Farcaster does, but it's not strictly necessary. There are perfectly decentralized systems like BitTorrent, that if they were invented today someone might throw in some blockchain because it's 2022.

Does that include EVM computational capabilities and projects like Helium or FC? Or just DeFi definition of crypto?
