fun story: few weeks ago I got fined $10,425 by stripe for doing crypto adjacent stuff with stripe.

The first email I got from them said it could be as high as $425,000 so getting only 10k in the end was quite a relief.

to be fair to stripe, they were just passing the fines along from visa. i learned that when you sign up for stripe, you agree to pay all the fines they incur on your behalf, which, does make sense 😆

crypto doesn't have this problem

switched to coinbase commerce and payments are coming back, but way lower volume

Honestly, I have no idea, perhaps someone uploaded ip protected content? Doesn’t feel like I should be responsible for that, but I think it’s just one of many policies I probably tripped

Used the same stripe account for a few things, biggest was mintables.club

Howcome the email says "IP infringement"?

This is wild. So they don't give you any details at all about what you actually did wrong! Seems completely arbitrary.
