How does one balance the nihilist existential thoughts of how our sun will die and Earth will eventually cease to exist, and being a “normal” functioning human in modern society? ASKING FOR A FRIEND

u gotta pick your own reason, tons of movements across history you can subscribe to a neo version of: dandy, dada, absurdist, existentialist, so many options!

Looking back in time, toward the beginning. First you didn’t exist, then all of life, then the sun and the whole universe. Permanence is illusion. But this moment is here now. Be here now.

Great question! It’s crazy to think even the sun will die and everything ends. But maybe that’s the key in understanding here, that nothing was meant to last. Everything flows, everything changes. Maybe the point was never permanence, but about presence. Not the destination, but the experience itself. The journey.

By remembering that the sun’s got billions of years left and in the meantime, we still gotta do laundry and show up for coffee with friends!
