local will always be best if people have the hardware and chops, but there’s a middle ground too with privacy enhancing technologies and distributed trust!

In cases where privacy considerations carve out the trusted third party operators there are many. Dark pools and secrets management/auth come to mind as big $ industries that operate like that.

the OAI memory is cool but we have to be able to do better than ‘trust me bro’ privacy

for AI agents to collaborate safely they will likely need to have defined interfaces that can be monitored. that requires some notion of privacy. would love to see more people working on this!

this article is right on, but although zk coprocessors are awesome don’t forget the other PETs! to build truly collaborative private state we need tech like MPC which distributes trust across nodes

When you don't need strict global consensus, stateless infra is significantly more efficient, more decentralized and plain superior to blockchains https://polynya.mirror.xyz/MChed2Qo4aiD7zwgWvGNpkCXmUbESCf7stjJe2h_TRk

Hey Cassie! I joined a while back because dwf seemed like a cool guy on ct, stayed browsing because the vibes are good. Love what you’re doing with Quilibrium btw, I work on MPC and am a big believer that our collective internet needs to be built on PETs

glad you mentioned MPC, imo its how we create decentralized infrastructure that lets AI actually use the most VALUABLE kinds of information (whether that’s PII, trading strategies, proprietary data, etc) check out what we’re working on @nillion to make this feasible!

When your security is reduced to the exploitability of a single vendor, the M in MPC becomes moot. Stay safe out there – never trust, always verify.
