I'm long animated content over the next 2-5 years. AI will bring the manufacturing cost down 100x, opening the door to more/better writers & world builders. Pixar / Arcane / etc have raised the quality bar on animated content, changing consumer behavior. I'd expect the best shows/movies in 5 years to be animated.

Itโ€™s possible animation is the only medium in the future. It keeps getting better. I donโ€™t play video games but my kids do and Iโ€™m blown away at how real they look. Watched him play nba2k23, feels like being at a game. Compared to the graphics of yesterday https://i.imgur.com/z6ZuXkf.jpg

Interactive video (to the extent that the genre exists) is also much easier and cheaper with animated content.

Makes sense. Same thing happened with music. As production costs came down, the best music is electronic, or vocals are reduced to a simple hook. More computers, fewer humans.

with AI generating 3D models/animations/textures creating an entire film as an indie creator can finally be feasible.

Totally agree with this. My wife is an animator and the ability for AI to automate some of the grunt work (and therefore expense) of animation is huge. I donโ€™t see it replacing the creative parts of it anytime soon though.
