Feel like there is a common belief that if you're dropping something onchain that your collectors need to make money.

I think moving forward the magic comes from that happening without their being an expectation of it.

I also think money will be made less from flipping, more from sharing onchain royalties and fees.

I think there’s a difference between an expected APY (which feels too DeFi) and having ownership of onchain royalties.

I think people have historically been really scared about break securities laws but meanwhile we’re launching millions of pumpfun memecoins.

Would love to see more onchain royalties.

Very strong agree.

The most promising projects I see are those which focus on real yield, and profit-sharing with holders. 

Speculation breeds speculation in crypto, which often just results in the pump and dump game of musical chairs - but actual real yield dividends, now that's something sustainable.

I agree with this take. I think we have seen this happen time and time again with all of the biggest projects. Low entries with no expectations. Roadmaps arent the driver its the community of people and collaborators

I don't think that's a common belief. It has become common in web3 because a lot of people are incentivizing folks to collect things they wouldn't otherwise collect. That's cool. I am all for it. However, the true magic comes when there is no need for such incentives and it is all driven by organic appreciation.

I don't mint/buy art NFTs often and wouldn't really consider me a collector, thus I never had the intention of making money through those (different than from NFT like most pfps that are made for speculation).

Since Farcaster I do mint more than before though, which is prety cool. People here are crazy creative <3

most of my big wins are from using onchain apps or collecting with no expectation of reward.
and years later the onchain culture or tech shifts, and someone invents a way to reward the set of early adopters

The current system is so archaic it blows my mind more artists aren’t rushing to move their fan base onchain.

More money will be made from sharing in royalties and fees, sure; but by a select few. The majority will still be engaging in flipping rather than content creation.

This has always been the case, onchain or offchain. There are more consumers than creators.

How do you think people would make something else priority if not for what they see as profit? Everyone wants to make their money immediately and forget the main purpose of the course lol

This is my number one reason to put art, music etc., onchain
