The biggest challenge for onchain media is not actually getting the media/content onchain. It's getting people to want to pay for it in a way that makes it sustainable for the platforms and curators bringing the content onchain to scale. We have more demand than ever to put new music on @cooprecs - but we're limited by the total addressable size of people in crypto that have an interest in paying for it

yes! creators want distribution and audiences and true fans, sometimes as much as if not more than $$

Agreed - my point is mainly that there is too much supply and not enough demand. Having trouble finding ways to get people who are currently onchain to want to collect or buy the content in a way that allows us to scale in tandem with the amount of music people are sending us. We're getting by for now but we could be doing 10-100x more supply if we can figure out how to get people to want to support it. Reality is we need to go beyond crypto and bring in a new class of buyers

which is crazy because some of the songs you put onchain recently are going wild offchain could be interesting if cooprecs takes similar path to TYB in which users are consuming / minting / being rewarded without knowing its crypto, just replace TYB brands with cooprecs musicians

Isn’t there always an oversupply of music to some extent though? Only a few are able to sell out arenas while others play the clubs?

still think - a collab with a ticket sales company that gave you an enhanced nft that provided access to a high quality recording of the live show would be a "use case" - build audience where they're at ticket fees are shit - imagine a future where the "fees" go toward the artist directly for bonus content - that is transferrable. idk I haven't spent any significant $ on music directly since I was in college - so I'm definitely not the target audience. could do the same with collectible first press vinyl etc - that authenticated ownership yatta yatta. final thought - "buy the band a nice meal, beer, warm bed" take tipping token strategy to touring bands imagine having crypto abstracted away - yet letting "fans" tip the band X, Y, Z with a note etc. - that directed a large portion of the fees directly to the band - akin to merch sales etc - yet even better if there is no COGS for the band - just direct support it could be "upgrade to real hotel room", a "hot meal", etc for the bands in a van etc.

you’ll have to bring in non-art-collectors aka just avg music listeners, who are used to get everything for free. it’s an uphill battle but i believe in you dude.
