1M followers in a decaying platform that might disappear any day now. 1M followers in a new and nascent platform that's resiliently built to last, even if the founders don't find PMF. I think it's a no brainer.

having 1M followers in a raising platform means that you have a % of followers greater than in the other network.. so, your impact is bigger.. and more valuable.. another important factor is that we are all in web3, and your 1M followers in this still niche-like social network are more valuable for your career..

to be honest 1M followers on any social platform sounds like a nightmare for me. I would rather a smaller following of engaged folks who I could actually interact with. big account scale has never been my grindset and will never be. Yet for those who do aspire, for sure rather it be on a rising platform.

of course a new one. We can all see very clearly the path that modern web2 social networks have gone through: Twitter, YouTube, Facebook - it has changed us it has also changed and accelerated the modern economy and the wealth of early creatooors on each of these platforms in an incredible way.

I remember a friend had a million followers on Clubhouse and then Clubhouse was gone. I’ll take the IG followers. Pretty sure I could turn that into a comfortable living with way less risk.

I’d choose the traditional in this case. 1M on X means you already have a solid community/circle, it might be easier to onboard them to the new one and learn the gimmicks together...

Farcaster is more valuable if we are looking strictly from the evolution of social media angle. Being at the forefront on Farcaster with 1M followers is more than numbers. It presents a unique opportunity to pioneer and shape social media's future, trailblazing community growth.

Normally an existing one. Even TikTokers send ppl to other platforms. My 360k followers on clubhouse are worth nothing today. The difference with Lens, FC, is audience ownership, but that only pays off with adoption - the risk still exists.
