Is it just me or are all search experiences on consumer apps just terrible? Feel like the searches never actually show me what I want to find and instead just show me a bunch of random stuff I never asked for

These kinds of search problems are actually quite hard and most devs just YOLO it. I worked on Gmail & Drive search for a few years and no matter what measurable improvements we delivered, everyone remained dissatisfied. Oh they are total garbage. I always have better luck going to google and searching "New deadpool costume, reddit" than just searching in app. It's 2024. Make it make sense.

they focus on what they want to show you instead of listening to you. that is how they sell i guess. its a sad situation but we as consumers should be more discreet than ever.
