Find myself having very little tolerance for social apps that are not onchain. Having immersed myself so deeply in FC it feels like a step backwards to build an audience on any platform that you do not own. Very powerful psychological shift that I don't ever see changing moving forward.

but isn’t existing audience set is small? there’s also lot of potential in building a bridge between non-crypto to onchain - that no one yet to crack it properly at scale.

not only because of the ownership aspects, but also because of how onchain dapps and protocol build an ecosystem around each other. the social media apps of the past are silo's instead

May feel backwards but we have to meet the masses where they are today to drive adoption. 🫱🏽‍🫲🏾

It all sounds so wonderful to own your audience until you realize how many organizations are out there wanting to own you. Ownership of living beings is a frightening concept. Extreme individualism is the fastest way to personal misery, not to mention the destruction of the planet.

Since I started being more active on Farcaster I actually feel incentivized to become more active in trad soc media. With the hope to help migrating that network to web3.

Completely agree with you, @coopahtroopa.eth. As more people learn about web3 social apps, that they can own their content, own their work, the transition will be inevitable.

completely agree. This is the main reason i've struggled with other apps over the last few years. Just doesn't make sense to operate in a way that doesn't include ownership. It makes it so much easier to link the social graph concept to ownership having the fc example too, for new people

I wonder how long it will take for the masses to arrive. How can we speed up the process?
