@jasoncrawford.eth what role does online community serve as opposed to IRL community, and can one be a substitute for another?

They certainly substitute for each other, but in economics terms, they're not perfect substitutes. Online community has obvious advantages in pulling together people from around the world, 24/7. IRL is higher-bandwidth, more compelling, more meaningful, and creates deeper/stronger relationships. A great community has both
