what legacy institutions have is this potable reputation badge that says, with a glance, this person is smart and works hard (eg went to Harvard, worked at Google…)

I do really like the idea of it being user generated

fun opportunity for another client: each user gets ten votes each week to decide who they want to bestow the client's own version of a power badge to. the power badge only appears in your mutual friend group as the top 50, not globally, making gamification pointless

ya very true. I think that’s what will happen (and is) 

outside of algo ranking I’m not sure anyone sees value in a power badge

or we can have projects ignore the power badge parameters.... for instance even people without a power badge can participate in Onchain Affiliates... if more projects choose to ignore that filter, its no longer a factor.... kind of like a new BIP in BTC, if you dont like it, dont run it 🤓

I agree with your opinion because the percentage of Power Badge ownership in Japan and Korea is low and it is not fair.

OpenRank seems to be an interesting alternative there.

I wish that Priority mode was based on it instead of power badges.
