The one potential upside of this "buy your allowance" is recruitment and retention. Starting at an allowance of 5 and getting nowhere is pretty frustrating. I think a ton of people quit before 100. The biggest thing we stand to gain is new quality users from Twitter that come for the degen tips and stay for the vibes at the 10k and 100k levels. I think I could convince many more people with this pitch than the starting 5 allowance, if they tier these correctly. It's not all doom and gloom, good things can happen from this.

What about the opposite argument where people who don’t have money can’t enter the tipping game Where before it was arguably based on how much effort you put in

TONS of arguments against the new tipping system. I'm trying to find the one potential benefit.

You're right but a lot of people including myself ask @jacek to make social rank a part of the new system, and now we already have a "small" social boost. I hope it will grow in the future, up to 50% from staking/50% from socials.

If they keep the minimum at 10k, then that hasn't been made harder than it was, right? I'm trying to figure out if I can afford to top off what I've earned to get to 100k though. That's pretty tough.

It's still 10k minimum, but now needs to be locked not really changing how much money you need to start, though it does mean you need higher conviction to lock it biggest losers of allo might be mid tier accounts that won't be sitting on 100k or a million degen but have ground out ranks to get up the ladder i.e. users like myself lmao
