The one potential upside of this "buy your allowance" is recruitment and retention. Starting at an allowance of 5 and getting nowhere is pretty frustrating. I think a ton of people quit before 100. The biggest thing we stand to gain is new quality users from Twitter that come for the degen tips and stay for the vibes at the 10k and 100k levels. I think I could convince many more people with this pitch than the starting 5 allowance, if they tier these correctly. It's not all doom and gloom, good things can happen from this.

I think it was a great way to onboard new users indeed, many of us came and stayed even after they drastically reduced allo but I think it was a terrible move, it killed momentum. This could help tho weโ€™ll see!

Can't wait to buy some allowance because 5 $DEGEN is kind of pointless. I spent 1000x more than that minting stuff with degen I bought on secondary.

A lot of "quality" twitter anons joined in Feb for the tips and many of them grabbed their bags and left as soon as they've seen May allowance criteria, so the same "buy your allowance" system might just as well create new negative side effects like this. Whales buy in, speculate, sell and leave. 3 months lock period is just enough to pump it and then you know what happens

This season every thing was unfair for us. As it is now, we have the same 10k degen in our wallets, but one gets a 10k allowance and the other only gets a 5 allowance. This does not make anyone want to keep the degen. There are different opinions on how to do this next season, but I feel that fairness will be maintained when it comes to this point!

Yeah butโ€ฆ.also incentivizes people to stake 100k get their allowance and just farm it with crap casts. And not sure how they control for that unless they ban users who do that.
