It's now been nearly 2 years since I quit my job at Google and began pursuing @paragraph full-time. During this time I:

- raised funding as solo founder
- grew the team to 3 people (w/ 0 turnover!)
- personal happiness & fulfillment increased tenfold
- I've traveled more than I ever have (⬆️ flexibility & freedom)

When I quit, people told me I was crazy for giving up the job I had, but I couldn't be happier I took the plunge.

I'm aware this is a biased and potentially uncommon perspective, but I'm very fortunate for how things have played out so far and I'm excited to continue moving forward.

I think it did help (and does potentially open up doors) a bit but not to a very large degree

Do you feel having the google name on your CV helped bring in the funding tho? I feel that’s something many successful founders seem to miss. Also, do you feel having a “pedigree” be it in a former employer or Ivy League school helps open up doors that don’t open for others without that resume?
