Have there been any other coins with a gtm focused on tipping, like $DEGEN? I'm curious if the specific tipping mechanisms (eg daily replenishing allocation) will be studied & replicated across future token launches.

you def had tipping in discord servers last cycle, but i think tipping as a means to distribute tokens is a first. also tipping on social media prob a first?

Eco was relatively early to this meta, intro’ing tipping in their & other Discords + Twitter w/ a refill function. But hadn’t broke through to crypto mainstream. Also kinda “rugged” the normie users of their custody product (incl. me) by retroactively massively diluting / bifurcating their app vs. social points

Steemit / STEEM token is similar to FC and $degen. It launched in 2016, and was the most successful DeSo, while it lasted... STEEM was generated by staking STEEM, which gave a daily allowance to tip (upvote) posts. Ofc you could 100% tip to yourself, which was one of several problems. It's the best study imo.

Pretty sure there is a on chain tipping mechanism on Reddit r/cryptocurrency. I haven’t done much research but it looks to be kind of similar.
