Have there been any other coins with a gtm focused on tipping, like $DEGEN? I'm curious if the specific tipping mechanisms (eg daily replenishing allocation) will be studied & replicated across future token launches.

Steemit / STEEM token is similar to FC and $degen. It launched in 2016, and was the most successful DeSo, while it lasted... STEEM was generated by staking STEEM, which gave a daily allowance to tip (upvote) posts. Ofc you could 100% tip to yourself, which was one of several problems. It's the best study imo.

Baking a money game into a product turns it into a pure money game. Steemit attracted the worst kinds of users who produced valueless content to grift rewards, when the aim was to incentivize the best content with money. Bad content = true death in bear szn when reward dollar value -95%.
