NORTH STAR METRIC: # of people who have started sustainable, personally-aligned projects that leverage $higher.

I've been giving this a lot of thought. 2024 was a movie. De facto leaders like @lght.eth and @martin + dozens of active community members put us in an incredible position: Higher is the highest-signal network on Farcaster, with a widely resonant open source brand and a rich ethos that has found its way into many community projects, new and old.

In 2025, we need to build on those foundations in a focused, organized way.

Hi Casters. @barmstrong just posted this on Twitter  https://x.com/brian_armstrong/status/1892922939730747577. I hope he posts it here too. This is an important moment and precedent for crypto in the US. And we have Brian and Paul Grewal and the rest of the Coinbase team to thank for it.

Unfortunately my girlfriend has been made redundant at work. She's mildly depressed right now - it's understandable and it's all temporary, we have to wait it out. But I'm so tired. We have three dogs. They need to be walked, exercised and cared for. And in the end, all the care fell on me, and she sits with wine all day and watches TV shows, or plays computer games. She doesn't cook, she doesn't clean, we've been living in a shithole for 2 months now. How long this will go on I don't know, but I already want to ride off into the sunset from all this.

I've been in a relationship with my girlfriend for 2 years. I was going to propose to her at the end of summer on the anniversary. Now I doubt it. The girl's department at work screwed up, didn't fulfill the plan and they lost their monthly and quarterly bonuses. Their salary is small and this month the girl asked me for money for eyelashes and manicures. No problem, I gave it to her, but she went to get her hair colored and makeup refreshed and called to ask for more money. I got tense, but I did.
Then we went to the movies one weekend. We were walking past a shoe store and the girl said she needed shoes, her heel had come off, and they have a dress code. Okay, we went in, I thought I'd get some inexpensive shoes. Aha! The girl picked out the coolest shoes! I gritted my teeth and paid. But in the evening, I told her all about the spending....
