i actually support this encouraging more innovation on the edges is helpful for places like buffalo and st. louis where there are ambitious young people without the means to move

Purple != the government Purple is opt in. Government via taxes is not. To be clear, if the state of Missouri or New York wants to spend their own money on a program like this, I don't really care. But since it's federal, I have a pov.

I’m just joshin, funny out of context. I do think real dollar incentives from fed to founders in SOME format would be interesting, though. Not like we’ve got any debt to pay off instead.

If every company treated government funding like Elon has with Tesla (paid back the loan with interest, other car companies have not) and SpaceX (milestone-based contracts vs. traditional cost-plus), I'd be more OK.
