Upgraded both my MBP and iPad Pro in the last year and am using the latter much more for work than before. 

For a variety of eyesight/ergonomic issues, and effect of going 16” where weight/bulk/screen size tradeoff ironically makes it less usable except hooked up to a monitor, defeating the big-screen purpose.

At this point iOS is the limiter, not the hardware. I can see myself not using a laptop at all in a few years. iPad + maybe a home server? Feels like laptop is a dying form factor, both OS and h/w wise.

I use iPad Pro exclusively, do not have a MacBook anymore. For coding etc I use Pythonista app for Python dev stuff and Working Copy as a git client. For other dev work I have a Digital Ocean instance that I SSH into via the Blink app. Works well if you’re comfortable with command line.
