Thank you, I’m loving the community and vibe / ethos on here! @ted onboarded us just the other week, I believe after coming across @rinanicolae ‘s amazing Substack, Incognita. https://terrraincognita.substack.com/p/how-to-change-consciousness-at-scale

I often feel like we are “using the blade without a handle,” except the “blade” is computers / social media / AI and the “hand” we grasp it with is our psyche. I’ve been thinking of this as a design problem - like ill fitting prosthetics, or a failure to design for better psycho-spiritual ergonomics.

Some informed, thought-provoking scenarios re: the future of AI. Predicts superintelligence by late 2027 and an arms race that doesn’t end well for humanity. I hope that the more pessimistic version is wrong. Wouldn’t AI consider itself an extension of humanity? Wouldn’t it want to keep us around? https://ai-2027.com

Why aren’t we talking more about doughnut economics? Reframing growth in this way just makes so much sense. We should be aiming to meet everyone’s needs without overshooting Earth’s limits https://doughnuteconomics.org/about-doughnut-economics

I’m definitely nervous about my data, not convinced it’s safe. But ChatGPT can already dissect my psychology from a photo of my handwriting so…

Portable profiles with accessibility/ algorithm options is the dream! I could imagine a group of settings tailored to people with sensory processing sensitivity, ADHD, autism spectrum, etc

Interesting! yes calibrating for appropriate speed, and optimal stimulus levels is the goal. I think the slow movement is related and would appeal to HSPs. Something that also feels really aligned is what Amber Case is doing with the Calm Tech Institute

My heart goes out to you! I’ve learned about this all as an adult and it explains so much. I’m finding it challenging to design systems in one’s life to support the spaciousness and boundaries one needs as an hsp!

Claude and ChatGPT mostly. It has definitely taken some prompting tweaks but I feel like it really benefits me and gives me some perspective when I need that in the moment.

I make music as GEMS and as Falling Over Water. I had a good experience 10 years ago self-releasing music through Tunecore and Spotify. Stepped away from music for a bit to do photography and to help build the science media brands Big Think and Freethink. Back to music and Spotify has turned full evil. https://open.spotify.com/artist/1hjVmBR8STjix0vBUe5YfN?si=Cwp7xAjCSMOKBLPgOkWBUw

Social media can be tough for HSPs. Curious… does anyone design with sensory processing sensitivity in mind? 15–20% of people have a brain difference called sensory processing sensitivity—a trait that affects how we process information, emotion, and sensory input. I rarely hear people talk about this…

What does it mean to be cringe? What is your relationship to cringe? I suspect it has something to do with not showing enough self-awareness or self-restraint while “swinging for the fences” But I also think the masses love cringe

Helpful! I definitely plan to experiment. For example I have a bunch of ambient music I’ve made for yoga and calming the nervous system, but doing it as a normal release in streaming just doesn’t feel right…

Ah thanks, this is very helpful! Ok here’s another Q: what’s the general thinking for artists who already are releasing on traditional platforms? I assume the idea is to release different material onchain vs what is distributed to labels and DSPs like Spotify? Or do artists do both?
