What you wrote applies to any chain at that scale. Block space is limited. But like the internet not everything will or should happen on one local network, there will be a backbone connecting local activity together and only Ethereum right now is set up to do that.

I'm routinely getting into arguments over this with Solana people, where I say "eventually you'll experience scaling issues and blockspace limitations" and they just make fun of me. And I'm not saying this to diss Solana. It's just the reality that all resources are finite.

It also doesn't make sense to run, say, the entire record of all Twitter interactions and the settlement layer for major banks on the same ledger. Hierarchies are a good thing.
