and one i haven't tried yet for this specific purpose but that i'm really excited to try is group vocalization and movement, i.e. sound baths, yoga, tai chi, breath work circles, choirs she said it's because women with autism have a higher likelihood to overintellectualize their emotions and logic out of them instead of process them, so scheduling in opportunities for somatic connection can help with the overintellectualization. singing and movement help :)

of course! they'll probably sound like typical advice if you're already familiar with some of the classic strategies lol deep pressure is the one i respond to the best so far - really tight self hugs, heavy heavy blankets, curling myself up in the tightest ball possible surrounded by a bunch of pillows (and making sure the pillows touch/cover my back - literally surrounded) adding in a hot water bottle to hug tight really helps too! add soft piano music with nature sounds on noise cancelling headphones, an eye mask and close the blinds and i am soothed in 15 min 😎 before it would take me hours or days to self soothe after what i thought were anxiety attacks but turns out they were meltdowns from overstimulation :)))
