Today my parents sat me down and had a serious conversation with me. Apparently they bought 12 graves for our direct and future family (and dogs). That was really nice of my parents to do :) TIL that apparently when people buy grave sites ahead of time and die sometimes their kids don’t know about it. And their kids end up spending more money than necessary buying another site. So buy them ahead of time if you can, and tell your kids

Wow that's incredibly nice of them to do! At a fairly large cost too, that's really considerate of them. Planning ahead for things like this can be hard, and I think important to note that it's sometimes not possible. And you do what you can. My daughter passed in December, and my wife and I were only able to get a double space for her and for my wife in the future. Obviously I had never considered what our grave setup would be. I would have also loved to have a space there. But even if I can't be, I'm glad my wife can be laid with her. And, on the other hand, if I were there, I wouldn't be with our other future children. So it's a complicated thing. If and when possible, planning it out in advance, with a few thousand dollars saved, is worth it. But you just do what you can.

So sorry to hear about your daughter Christian. Thank you for sharing that and being vulnerable with me. Things can be so unexpected and difficult that it’s hard to predict what’s next. I’m sure you and your wife poured so much love into your daughter that she would be happy with either of you next to her. And your future kids will be happy too. Your love is enough. Your wife’s love is enough. All is well and you do the best you can 💖🕊️
