American political discourse is dominated by vibes, chasing mic-drops moments, celebrity endorsements, and children of presidential or vice presidential candidates. This is mindblowing to outsiders who are used to discussing policies. I lived in countries where people go nuts over politics, but it's rarely this petty, focused so little on political stances.

America is 3 corporations in a trench coat and actual policy discussions are incomprehensible to the average ‘educated’ citizen. Mike Judge saw it coming from miles away

I’m from the USA but have been living in Europe for 10 years. I was so enraptured by the celebrity of us politics that I didn’t realize how abnormal and backwards it was until I left and found out you’re supposed to either not actually know about your politicians or automatically assume they are corrupt.

Because there’s only one campaign actually laying out policy…been campaigning like a dog on it for almost a year now.

Have you read psychopolitics by Han? He's taking about how politics have become more about appearance than content much in line with similar trends in other realms. America just seems to have taken it to the more extreme edge

That is because US politics is little more than bread and circus for plebs. The US is actually run by a cartel of banks, who take direction from the Bank for International Settlements. Follow the money.
