I often said this to conspiracy theorists who believed "Israel controls the US": That's not the full story. It's more the other way around; USA ruling class controls Israel. Israel is basically 51st American state, with the additional advantage for warhawks that they can exploit the historical plight of the Jewish people (knowingly making them less safe everywhere). When you look at it from that angle, everything crystallizes: How they can openly commit genocide. Why they never apologize. How economic & military aids have an ROI. How AIPAC exists to further the bond between the 51st state and federal government. Unethical & colonial & extractive & harmful for humanity. But it explains all the insanity we've seen in the last 11 months.

even the 51st state "conspiracy theory" looks too cautious as an explanation now, after such a horrific year, with no end in sight maybe the "ruling elite who decide what is normal" is now a stateless interest group, which only plays two state-related roles - when they take on a role as representatives of one society they say we are so benevolent - we "work tirelessly" 24/7 for a ceasefire, and you can pay us your taxes in good conscience - but we cannot meddle in the separate country affairs, so don't blame us or yourself when they take on a role as representatives of another society they say we are such a small and alone sparkle of democracy in this region, we must be vigilant and ruthless to survive at all first society sleeps well, and second society does not sleep at all, more and more scared - both are exploited by the same ruling elite in different ways 300 $degen

I think the belief that Israel “controls” the US has its roots in anti-semitic tropes, even on a subconscious level. There is no logical reason for Israel to control the USA, the greatest western imperial superpower. I have always thought of Israel as a satellite state or US army base.
