It’s sort of ironic, as spreading the OCP narrative only primes a consumer to be more pissed off and paranoid when Coinbase themselves rightfully takes similar actions The customer support point about Coinbase is very rightful I believe. Their support is a disgrace when compared to the financial institutions they want to be considered a peer with

I am afraid of Coinbase. I have for me what is a lot of money in there and it feels trapped. If I try and move it, they will punish me. If I encounter problems, I will get no help.

My money was *almost* trapped in there. I moved it to a hard wallet and use a smaller Canadian company to off-ramp instead (with better fees). Since moving that amount (5 figs) I’ve done two rounds of enhanced due diligence. They’ve made me submit my previous paycheques, bank statements with matching paystubs, my certificate of incorporation for Humankind etc. They asked me for social proof too of how well my company is doing etc. If you ever want to move it, this is a bit sus, but just move it all quickly. I moved it all within 2 days because I just wanted to maximize my retirement fund 🤣. The request for enhanced due diligence only came 2-3 months later.

What do you use to offramp? I tried a couple and they all scare the hell outta me.

in case this is helpful: we've recently released an on-/off-ramp feature inside /fluidkey (powered by bridge.xyz) and are covering all fees :) the nice thing is that Fluidkey is fully self-custodial, so funds only get processed by a third party when you decide to on-/off-ramp + Bridge are a great partner who are used to processing large amounts quickly
