I don't find this aesthetically pleasing. The faces in particular have that soulless model pose that MJ makes. But you can't say this person isn't a "creator". Whatever that means, he evidently put lots of time and resources into making a homage to his favorite director. For me this is enough to consider it art, regardless of the tool he made it with. https://x.com/PJaccetturo/status/1841884941724065984?t=4uE1LuVIpoRh7MPL5_CfDA&s=19

"You made art, but you shouldn't have" 😹 This might be a hot take, but I think a live action Angel's Egg would go hard

cue hayao miyazaki clip of him destroying some tech guy's soul (๑>ᴗ<๑) it's definitely "content." and that makes the guy a content creator ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ not sure about art. i don't know how useful the art term is anymore in the age of content. and art is different for everyone anyways i think this still has a long way to go tho. to me this just takes all the life out of the original and makes it look generic and bland in the way that mj/ai works by producing an average of training data. but idk, that might appeal to some ppl. it feels soulless, as u said, and i guess art without soul is just content

Ehh, all we know about his time & resources is what he told us. In terms of writing, he copied the original trailer shots. In terms of prompts, no effort seems to have been put into costumes, frame-cuts, angles... Even with AI, this could've been done a lot better. I think this is my primary problem with AI art: There are 0.01% great AI artists who convey emotions or thoughts with this new tool, but there are a lot more grifters than other art types who suddenly think they're able to skip ALL the steps (when some of these steps include conveying qualia)
