Yeah if you think about how you chat idly with people in line at a grocery store no one would call it “too nice” …just normal. The asshole online personas are just reality tv cosplay. To be one way in real life and another way online is obviously inauthentic on one side of the coin. Be the same everywhere.

Does anyone think FC is too nice? I asked a question about this recently and no one seems to feel that way. I wonder if it is possible to have a network of that scale that remains thoughtful and nice. What would be needed to achieve that?

My guess was because of the invite system fc grew from a network of SF/SV people, therefore they kinda started treating it as a linkedin with twitter UI. And thats why the vibe is so stuffy.
