Keeping your valuables at home is dangerous, period. Same story if dude had cash, jewelry, etc in his house.

True, but simply owning cash, jewelry, etc. doesn't have a giant billboard linked to your digital identity saying "look at all this stuff I have"

Yes. That's why I would never use a ledger that I physically own. I know it's controversial for some purists, but I'd rather shift that responsibility to a service.

this was awful. i think people have a tendency to boast way more in the crypto space than any other. ive never understood why anyone would want to let others know exactly what they have. (not saying that the victim did)
