oh man. I use an audio interface that requires me to do this so it can install its own kext - grateful I’ve read this prior to installing! cc @bias this is relevant to your Apollo as well

wonder what apple's plan is - the appeal is basically a unix with a serious ui - people already have beefy linux devboxes they ssh into - the moat isn't that deep.
