meticulously planned a tour today. everything lined up weather, snow, avy forecast

then we got to the top and saw this massive D2 avalanche exactly in the "safe" area (group for scale in the upper right)

instantly called it and turned around. stay safe out there

yeah we estimated at least 7 feet. distances were really tough given conditions- a flat light and too much convexity to the slope to get close and check it out comfortably

A snow skiing Degen, loving farcaster. I love casts about skiing, outdoors, Mtn biking and football. I enjoy games, quizzes and host /category-quiz . 

through the gates in the ski resorts, we hit a bunch of side country- lifts all the way up to the top/gate then tour up a bit more for a better line

saw your other comment too, I’ll draw up our lines and respond to that one!

Do you access these areas from the ski resorts, as in through the gates,  or start touring from the road. Smart decision BTW.
