meticulously planned a tour today. everything lined up weather, snow, avy forecast then we got to the top and saw this massive D2 avalanche exactly in the "safe" area (group for scale in the upper right) instantly called it and turned around. stay safe out there

yeah we estimated at least 7 feet. distances were really tough given conditions- a flat light and too much convexity to the slope to get close and check it out comfortably plus the eerie 2001 a space odyssey pillar
