This week in building /quilibrium Trying something new in updates summarizing on impacts: (On protocol) Dynamic fee markets – solving for the emission curve attack concern: The first version of the embedded dynamic fee market with the adjusted cost basis (includes proof size as a factor) is being tested out. (On and off protocol) Things other teams can use in their own projects: Publishing async triple ratchet later tonight under the separate MIT licensed repo mirror.

what async triple ratchet and why do you consider it important? (as gru-ish as possible)

triple ratchet = let groups communicate with the same efficiency as signal direct messages sync = requires periodic refresh across the whole group, higher level of malicious security (when performing compute over it) async = when lower level of malicious security is fine (a group, people trust each other), no periodic refresh, constantly updating, better for group chats

DCs on protocol are slated for 2025, the async version of this is one of my proposals. This version is a bit more raw — I.E. some safety rails are missing because the caller library handling serialization/deserialization is assumed to make these checks. I suspect if this is used for DCs, it will need to have those safety rails "batteries included"
