So ofc they approach from the west and take small arms fire into the aircraft. It’s no biggie in the grand scheme of things but COULD have gone v bad Then that evening we got CHEWED OUT by our higher leadership for not keeping them “up to date with the situation on the ground” Absolute Olympic levels of gaslighting from our leadership fr So that was a pretty dumb experience 🫡

The catch-22 level insanity part was that even though we were THE ONLY NATO units anywhere near there our higher hq didn’t believe any of our daily reports of firefights happening nearby (we’d stay up and just watch the tracer and rpg battles happen every night around us but we weren’t authorized to to go out and do anything about it) So we’d periodically fire mortar flares near the areas to be like hey quit fucking around) but mostly we just waited and hoped nobody came near us Then after MONTHS of daily reports they wanted to land a C-17 (massive ass plane) to drop off some stuff and we said it was a bad idea but they did it anyway so we said hey okay don’t approach from the west bc that’s where a ton of firefight activity happens…

Now I’ve been a LOT of dumb situations, but I think this is the dumbest While deployed to Afghanistan back in 2016/17, my company was the only unit in the Tarin Kowt region (bout an hour by air away from any other NATO units) We had a makeshift base setup where we lived so we could maintain a secure location in this area so NATO generals could advise the Afghan Army on how to fight the Taliban So we made a mini position within an Afghan army base who were 50/50 Taliban sympathetic (we knew this bc we listened to their unencrypted radio transmissions…. with the Taliban) And every few days a General would come through and we’d provide security for like a 6 hour PowerPoint presentation which we soon realized was just an excuse for the NATO generals to just sort of hang out and drink tea and eat chicken + rice. Overall dumb, but manageable…

Please help I need to appreciate my own life more by hearing your experiences What’s the dumbest situation you’ve ever been in? As in office space style “I have 4 bosses that all want conflicting things and have no end in sight” type of dumb Mine is in the 1st reply

At first, I thought it was giant sized Froot Loops, and I was thinking How would that even work? Like would you eat them like a donut and dunk them in your milk? 😄

Toxic take She was asked to speak to legislators about the realities of running a physical product business in the USA in 2025 and shared her lived experience of how the loan she was already approved for got rescinded bc they changed the qualification process No crying involved, just objective reality
