Chatting with an Army buddy about embracing challenge-seeking behavior in our daily life My buddy said he realized that “People without a growth mentality seem almost maliciously lazy” when you live that way Not a value judgment (we all have different struggles), but this sums up a lot of my unconscious thinking

I don’t know how I feel about this. Like I can respect it but also some people just want enough. They want kids, cats, coffee, time with people before they die. This isn’t a struggle or laziness. It’s just different values I respect the hustle when it comes with the desire to hustle but I resent hustle culture

I think one can want those things AND have a growth mindset, too, it's just their growth is focused differently because of their different priorities. My life is cats and good food and contemplation, but I also seek growth and challenge not for the sake of hustle but for the sake of curiosity and a desire to make sure my cozy life is stable and sustainable.

also super valid i think for me any frustration involved is more about comfort in stagnation in whatever realm you're ascribing value to for yourself even monks have stages of enlightenment 🤷

Having gone through stages of enlightenment myself, after the third one, I gave up on thinking I'd arrived at some ultimate destination. There is no destination, only the journey of becoming.

Mostly, my story is on Facebook, scattered through years of posts lol But I'm plotting out a series on Paragraph of my complex and twisty backstory that winds through the wild ride of my 20s, the toxic soup of my 30s, and into my 40s now undergoing deeper and deeper transformation while following wild whims and nudges that lead to really cool things :D
