very minor, but I do find myself more often coming across desktop FC sign-ins and having to whip out phone even though i'm logged into desktop WC already. Would be cool to just auto-login Makes me wonder if the apps building on top of FC are more mobile consumption oriented (what I imagine) vs. desktop consumption

I’m trying to get my head into Merkle’s thinking here I’m gonna do some thinking out loud From the supply perspective, that’s not enough money to really sting, but it’s not nothing. They could 5x it if they thought it really mattered or was a valuable experiment even and not materially impact their runway For most recipients (very likely WEIRD, maybe even super rich), it’s not enough to matter. Not sure it’d even finance a daily Basepaint habit. So maybe they’re thinking that $5 is enough to serve as a seed for prestige and the competition will really be for bragging rights and not for the $5? If the economic incentive is intended to mean something, it should be bigger. If it’s not, then why not just $1 or a trophy NFT? Seems like such an awkward half measure That being said, huge credit to Merkle for the unflinching discipline to build a viable protocol/app/community without falling into the trap of magic tokenomics Can’t wait to read the post mortem in January

Update: experiment was a success, power badge is no more in Warpcast! Active users saw no impact and new users benefitted from this change. Warpcast will remove power badges from the UI permanently. If you are a developer who uses Power Badge, @neynar will continue supporting the Power Badge API for you.

allow me to get a lil sentimental if you will - one year ago i took a major leap into the unknown and joined brian in building @unlonely as a new paradigm for synchronous online social experiences. ethcc 2023 was the first crypto conference i attended and i was SO overwhelmed - every event i went to was full of strange new people saying things i didn’t understand. i was still getting used to introducing myself as a “founder” and perfecting the 1 line pitch for unlonely, begging people to use our product… there was crazy imposter syndrome and i questioned if this was what i should really be doing with my life post MBA + 5 yrs at google when everyone else had gone into VC / PE / consulting etc.
