what do you think about derivatives on @base?

I come from @nounsdao (CC0) which encourages derivs to spread the meme. @based and @BasedApeGang are also incredibly creative and push things forward. 

my bias is that exact copies are bad but real, quality derivs are good.

@jessepollak @base @nounsdao @based @BasedApeGang my takes:

- base makes it cheap / easy for devs to hop in and experiment w creative ideas (EVM &amp; low ⛽️)

- the base(d) prefixes to coin names is a status symbol, like the Nike swoosh

- imo they’re not trying to impersonate or confuse traders, rather extend lore

I’ll midcurve the counter …

Most of these are just grift pasta, though there are a few exceptions.

And those that are exceptions like based fartcoin which “extend the lore” are bundled to allow for ease of appreciation.

Clanktardio stands out as an exception for being authentic perhaps.

Growing veggies for the fine folks of Southeastern Massachusetts, w/ a focus on nutrient quality. Always interested in the evolution of digital payments.  🎩 

Curious besides Clanktardio what you would put in this category.

I would say Clanker Pepe.

Yet I’m not a great judge of traditional memes.

low effort pasta riding the current trend is definitely grift

imo what the differentiator is, in the lowest form, creating new memes / content that captivates attention in an original form 

or the value of what is created as a result of the coin’s deployment

Would be nice if true but people have been doing this kind of grifting for years. People used to deploy low effort forks of defi protocols and derivatives of popular NFTs on BSC and now it’s happening on base
