I would say this is more reflective of continued growth in importing high value commodities - fruit, veg, seafood etc. as we continue to eat an expensive per capital and labor costs forced the trend toward import for the higher value crops.

Also, higher value commodities have continued to increase in production in developing countries since the turn of the century - think SA frozen fruit etc.

We primarily export lowe value commodities (grains) and random high value crops (almonds).

Growing veggies for the fine folks of Southeastern Massachusetts, w/ a focus on nutrient quality. Always interested in the evolution of digital payments.  🎩 

And the non existent buys that we’re supposed to materialize from chi s during trumps last term / meant the shift to Asia importing more protein, and dairy from South America.
