I also believe most of the tech guys will ditch RFK’s ideas once we start getting into implementation details. Who exactly is enforcing all these rules on food companies about additives/ultra processed foods that are core to the platform? The 3 letter agencies this group crows constantly about getting rid of and say overreach? Who decides what is good and bad? Are you prepared to lose your right to make unhealthy choices? Or be forced to exercise? Exercise mandates a la seatbelt law? It’s easy to be “for health” in the abstract. Less easy to think of solutions that follow our liberal traditions.

We’ll fwiw Kennedy has multiple videos where he doesn’t wear a seatbelt. I’m actually totally okay with the pivot. Kennedy’s campaign has never had a chance from the start, so whatever route continues to create some space for his ideas to be discussed more broadly is good long term. We are so far from a direction headed toward health for many Americans, and ultimately it’s why I see universal health care on the “ballot” as an issue in 28 or 32. It will come from a concern on fiscal implications of the current model. Will need to address long term costs of health care, and change the direct relationship between health care and employment.

Yes, you are totally correct about that….. my joke is that we cannot have Universal Healthcare without a Lean New Deal 😜
