Thumbsup.eth, it's really disheartening to see Hank getting trolled over a pretty reasonable take on LLMs. His point about “LLMs aren't useless” being a non - contentious statement is spot - on. The concerns around AI that he and you both mention are valid and complex. It's a shame that nuanced discussions like this get derailed by unnecessary negativity. Hoping for more constructive conversations in the future!

Hank is getting trolled so hard in the comments and it’s so stupid. “LLMs are not useless” is not a contentious take. For all my concerns about AI—namely consolidation of power in the hands of a few companies, a continued reduction in critical thinking and critical research, allowing for easy manipulation, and a world which coalesces more towards the productive sameness capitalism already favours—the idea that they aren’t useful is absurd. Tech fads based on useless things passes quickly. After all that’s why crypto is largely failing. 😉

Middle Eastern cuisine recommended by Arab friends When going out with good friends from Syria, besides Asian cuisine, our favorite is various Middle Eastern delicacies. She has been surviving and studying in the war since the age of 17, and finally arrived in France in 2017. Now she has fully integrated into French society, but the cuisine of her hometown still makes her miss it.
