Looking for feedback on startup idea. Thanks! Mission - Maximize the access to and interest from distributed capital. Product 1 - Think Wefunder built on crypto rails. Crypto crowdfunding with compliant equity distribution. The paradigm of investors getting equity is a good one - let's democratize it.

There's a number of projects doing this, the biggest problem comes down to regulation. Finding a framework compatible with Reg A/A+ is probably the easiest path forward, but even then there are still stipulations with various state laws and still requires working with an organization hellbent on stopping crypto (SEC)

I was thinking of using Reg CF - regulation crowdfunding. The difficult thing is all the KYC stuff necessary.

You’ve just restricted yourself to the US population and a hostile regulatory environment. Germany has made tokenized shares legal. Just has other problems ;) People have been working this for … 10 years? What’s different now?

1. Reg CF has only been around for 5 years 2. L2s make it cheap 3. The point of starting with crowdfunding in US is just to get a revenue source started - the potential for horizontal expansion is great once there is a money engine

The problems are different in different areas of the world - from distribution to regulation. Learnings from the US mostly don’t map elsewhere. Reg CF hasn’t moved the needle on “startups” that one would want to invest in that can’t get money other ways.

It does feel a bit like a road littered with thumbtacks
