I suspect most crypto / Ethereum people will continue to use Twitter for a while because they care about distribution and don't want to rebuild their audience. Retention numbers don't lie. Happy to be wrong and very willing to give out invites. Just reply or direct cast me. https://warpcast.com/vgr/0x1cdce8

The thing that will grow Farcaster in the near / medium / long term is net new behavior and apps. Being the best Twitter clone is a dead end.

This I agree with. Stealth public cast streams ftw.

How do you notice trends like this? Reading your entire discussion with Dan I feel like you both have such a high level view of theoving tides and subcultures. Is there something specific you do to stay on top of it?

Being old is a super power 😅 I’ve seen and participated in the rise and fall of these things a couple of times now going back 20 years. Plus: yes it takes a lot of reading, reflecting, and writing to synthesize.

Actually to expand: @vgr and @dwr.eth are good at this! Analyzing and working on ecosystems is a skill, handicapping cultural and tech/business trends. They’ve both practiced it a lot and gotten better at it! Concepts like pace layering and understanding which parts move fast (fashion) or slow (regulation, ZK research)
