Seems most organizations are making it harder to get funding. This makes things more difficult for both funders and fundees and ultimately does more harm that good. Would love to see moar focus on the accountability side

harder to get funding in what sense...? a) more stringent fundee qualification criteria b) longer funder decision-making processes c) generally more red tape d) less open approach / need to know somebody e) something else

All of the above. Seems most organizations are requiring more and more effort to jump through a series of hoops for just the potential of getting a grant. Often times there is back-and-forth to continue iterating on the proposal. In the end most of the funding is going to well known entities rather that new projects. With more and more KYC requirements the red tape gets longer and longer. It's a risky full-time job to navigate these proposal processes that are left up to the whims of community votes and may take months to realize funding

Is one of the problems you're identifying that the facilitators/ops teams are introducing lots of process requirements, but the community/voters are not necessarily taking those into account? In other words, fundees have to jump through a bunch of hoops but successfully doing so doesn't actually increase their chances of getting funded?

That definitely what Grant ships tries to solve for. Grantships.fun The biggest problem with it though is it may take a bit of time to really surface the best people to distribute funds, but that is the goal.

It looks like a good structure, but exactly right: it takes time for the process and participants to mature and evolve. It's a human problem as much a technical problem.
