If most of your replies are getting zero engagement, consider changing your behavior. Zero engagement triggers the spam algorithm (mutual follows excluded). 

Did you read the whole thread before replying? Was your reply unique among all other replies? Did you reply with an emoji or one word? Was your reply relevant to the original cast? On topic? If the caster only saw your reply in their notifications tab would they know what your reply is in reference to? 

If your cast was great and still gets no engagement, stop engaging with that person and move on. No amount of tips or Moxie is worth a spam label.

It's a real shame that you have to know the rules to avoid being penalized for natural attempts at engagement here. 

It's already difficult for new people to grok and get over the differences with FC/WC and something like Twitter, but the spam label "rule" like this just seems like an unmarked minefield.

I am not sure a lot of people know they are hidden. Especially for replies. I know I have had my posts in channels hidden and noticed when I went back to the channel, but lots of folks might not do that. Posts still show on your timeline even if hidden in channels.

But I guess the new channels won’t even let you reply or post unless you are a member, so will cut down on lots of engagement.

It’s why I’m going to keep talking about it. Channel changes are going to help a lot. We won’t see as much mass replying once people realize it’s all hidden. Hoping good content will rise up. Willing to play along with the experiment.
