Yes, mine unlocked yesterday and I think I'm not going to relock because I don't want to have to track everyone that has tipped me and I tipped to make sure I don't wipe out both our points for a season if I tip them too many times.

They really took all the joy out of tipping.

Sure, so now you have to be very careful to keep track of not only who you tip but who tips you so you don't accidentally tip each other 15 times.

Because of WC making it so we aren't supposed to attempt to talk to people who aren't following us (because if they don't interact with our replies we'll get marked as spammers), our circles are much smaller here now. 

People tend to tip each other they interact with a lot because they know that the other will respond and interact with them and because we like to support each other. But this new rule really makes that difficult and tipping cumbersome in general. As I said, it takes the joy out of it for me. I don't want to have to worry about who and how ofter I tip. I just want to tip when/who I want to tip.

1) It's not exactly someone else's money. DeFi institutions that require locks benefit the locker by providing them with yield. Locking up Degen only provides allowance in lieu of yield and that should be considered YOUR Degen to distribute however YOU see fit.

2) Agreed.

3) There needs to be a better way to deal with farmers than punishing people who want to provide regular support for other users. A Patreon type model of subscription is a valid use case for Degen/FC and it's also valid for people to support each other. The solutions of "tipping every 3 days" won't prevent farmers from doing the same so it's likely it will become even more restrictive.

4) There are LOTS of people who have been put in "spam jail" who didn't deserve it for trying to interact with people who don't follow them, especially big accounts. Frankly, big accounts got big by seeking a ton of engagement, so they have a payback responsibility to the network to interact with people who leave thoughtful and relevant replies to them.

I get that, changes like this are usually jarring, unfamiliar and the negative aspects can crop up easily to our mind.

Counterpoint:
1) You're tipping someone else's money
It's not like it's YOUR degen.  You're being untrusted to distribute NEW supply.  Remember you're complaining about free money, so additional patience, gratitude and perspective is appreciated.

2) You can tip people YOUR degen all you want
use @paybot or other methods and do what you want with YOUR $DEGEN

3) The limits are there for a reason
There are people stealing OUR degen supply because they game the system, farm, manipulate, claim and then sell.  They do not help Farcaster or DEGEN

4) your spam assertion is a bit exaggerated
"if they don't interact with our replies we'll get marked as spammers" -> this is only the case if you mention (@) a TON of people who don't follow you and they don't reply.  Nobody has a right to someone else's attention, and the people who @ mention dozens are tagging them, and it's abusive.
