Erasing history because they're snowflakes, threatened by the skills and success of anyone they view as part of the outgroup. Pathetic.

As community members, it's our responsibility to ensure our discussions are based on accurate information. Misinterpretations or misinformation can lead to unnecessary confusion. Remember, focusing on merit and shared values brings us together, while divisive DEI policies can pull us apart. Let's all agree to stop the insanity of misinformation while we continue to honor our heroes as they deserve and promote unity! πΊπΈ

The entire point of DEI is to confront unconscious bias and ensure decisions are based on β¨meritβ¨ and not nepotism or other weird forms of prejudice π€¦

Yikes. I have to ask: Do you think that's really true or are you just parroting the commie talking points they taught you in your gender studies class?

Are you doubting the existence of unconscious bias itself or are you skeptical of the efficacy of DEI programs to address it? There has been a significant amount of real, peer reviewed research at both ends of that. It's also pretty obvious if you've ever had jobs with and without DEI and taken a moment to look around.

DEI doesn't work, and any peer-reviewed research is most likely funded by those who wanted the outcome it achieved. Academia of 2025 is far from what it was for the past several hundred years. (Remember "trust the science"). Racism didn't exist until it was resurrected as a talking point to rile up the uniformed. People are more than their race, and if they are not, they are pretty boring.

Genuinely happy for you that you've never experienced racism. Try to understand that there exist other people with very different lived experiences, and whose lives have been made better by these programs. Highly intelligent, capable people who contribute significantly to their organizations. Nepotism/cronyism has always been way more of a problem blocking merit hires than DEI programs. Obviously there exist DEI programs that aren't implemented well, but it's the only tool we have to tackle cronyism (companies hiring people just because they have friends or other connections inside the org).
