honestly pretty accurate feeling from the consumer perspective but if you order from home and then go pick it up, i think you should slide them some coin if your order is ready and correct (But overall, United States tipping culture is out of control)

Nah. Too many rules already to self impose something as silly and arbitrary as this. Did you get treated well? Was the order well prepared? Are you yourself feeling financially stable? I think mandatory 20% tipping in all circumstances is dumb and adjust my tips based on how I feel. ...Maybe I'm the asshole.

Food carts and local coffee shops are two examples off the top of my head where you should probably be tipping. Most of the best family owned restaurants I know have you order at the front counter.
