This is obviously speculative. But what do you think of the case spelled out here for Canada joining the EU?

The short of it is that if the EU creates a multi-tiered membership that has some countries in an inner fiscal union and others outside that bloc with trading membership closer to what exists today, that Canada might fit in that second tier. 

It’d obviously help solve the EU’s shortage of domestic mineral reserves.

Remember reading an article (can’t find) about the Commonwealth nations forming a powerful trading bloc esp since they have pretty similar governance. So EU joins the Commonwealth… 😇
