What newborn care knowledge did you wish you already knew? Wife and I are incredibly excited and expecting our first kiddo this week!

you/the baby really don't need most of the stuff (gadgets, toys, accessories, etc.) you buy in preparation just the # of toys we had that were ignored for literally trash (cardboard boxes, milk bottles, fruit trays, etc.) is 🀯

When the baby is sleeping, you will get an uncontrollable urge to try and do something productive. Don't do that. When the baby is sleeping, that's when you need to be sleeping.

Congrats! Don't forget to take care of each other, so that you can both take care of the kiddo. It's a marathon not a sprint.

So much good advice left here already! 1) when they are crying it’s usually gas, diaper, hunger, sleep - cycle through those first. 2) when changing a diaper, open a fresh diaper and place it under the existing diaper that your baby is wearing. Helps with controlling mid diaper change bowel movements :)

Congrats! For like 6 years, take time away from career and give that time to baby. sing to them made up songs a lot. I always held our babies with like a double wrapped boa constrictor grip so afraid I would drop them πŸ˜‚ you don’t have to do that. Get good at swaddling.
